Leveraged Finance Solicitor Leading UK law firm | Highly active mid-market team | London | 3+ PQE The firm / team: - Our client is a top-tier UK law firm recognised for technical excellence and delivering real insight into what matters most to their clients, including FTSE100 companies and their equivalents globally. - The Leveraged Finance team is one of the most active in the mid-market space and is expanding due to strong client demand. - The team has significant experience across a range of private equity debt financing transactions, acting for both lender and sponsor clients. - They advise credit funds, direct lenders, banks, private equity sponsors and portfolio businesses on senior debt facilities, second lien, unitranche facilities, TLB, first out/last out and super senior facilities. - The firm has a reputation for delivering on transactions and is respected for their market knowledge on both deals and new lending products in the leveraged finance market. - This is a supportive, collegiate environment with strong bench strength at partner and associate level, ensuring reliable delivery on high-quality transactions. The role: - As a senior or managing associate, you will advise clients on a variety of transactions with a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition finance. - You will work primarily with the leveraged finance loan partners and collaborate closely with the Private Equity team and their clients. - The role involves advising on all aspects of financing transactions from origination, negotiation and documentation through to closing. - You can expect high quality work with principal players in the market, working on leading transactions with banks, private credit funds, lenders, sponsors and portfolio companies. - You will manage transactions including facility agreements, term sheets, commitment papers and intercreditor arrangements on leveraged finance deals. Key responsibilities include developing client relationships, gaining deep knowledge of clients' businesses, economic drivers and sector requirements to ensure advice is relevant and commercial. - You will engage actively in business development activities, promoting the firm and seeking opportunities for new work. - The role includes supervising junior lawyers' work and taking an active part in sharing knowledge and experience with the team. - There are opportunities for client secondments and a thorough on-boarding process with a clear roadmap for future progression and development. About you: - You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 3 years' PQE experience in leveraged finance, with a track record of leading on private equity-backed transactions. - Experience acting on UK and/or European mid-market financings is essential. - Strong familiarity with managing transactions, particularly facility agreements, term sheets, commitment papers and intercreditor arrangements. - Initiative and a proactive approach with strong service orientation are key attributes - the firm has a genuine "client first" culture. - The ability to work well and collaborate well in a team is essential, along with strong commerciality. - Demonstrable business development experience and the ability to build lasting client relationships. - The role will suit an ambitious, commercially-minded leveraged finance lawyer who thrives in a high-performing, supportive team environment and is ready to take on greater responsibility on market-leading transactions.
